This is my go-to hotel whenever I visit London. It’s my third stay here, and I always have a great time. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, plus the hotel is conveniently located with excellent transport links nearby. The breakfast is also quite good.

I had paid for a superior double at a little more than I usually pay for a single, so I had a very comfortable room on the ground floor. This is no small advantage on having to use the slowest lift in London. What was very heartening was to be recognised by several of the reception staff as I have been staying here for over twenty years... so they have changed over the years but cannot do enough for me and that counts for a lot. Previously, a year or two ago, I had mislaid my 'phone when leaving and upon return they had kept it safely for me. This visit, they had kept a jacket in between visits as it was exactly the beige colour I wear. It was not in fact a lost jacket of mine but the care and consideration they showed warmed my heart. They are all excellent.

It’s very clean, the room is ideal for a solo traveler. It had everything that I needed. It may seem small when you read the room description, but it’s actually just the right size. The cleaning staff did a very good job keeping the room tidy and refilling the necessities. The reception staff is wonderful and very helpful! Since I was travelling to Scotland, and returning to the hotel once again in 3 days, I was kindly offered to leave a part of my luggage in the luggage storage. I’m very grateful, it made my travelling much easier. The breakfast was good, a classic continental buffet. The hotel is very quiet, so you will have a good night rest. It’s near 2 Underground stations, so it’s very well connected to all the important destinations. I would raccomand it to everyone!

I think it all comes down to value for the money and in this aspect this is an excellent hotel. The room is new, you get room service every day, breakfast is buffet style with more than enough options (a few types of salami and cheeses, cheese spreads, yoghurt, honey, jam, cereal, fruit, coffee machine, juices, toasts and bread, pastry), the staff is mostly nice and the location is great. Very close to all the attractions and even more importantly the tube connections are great and proximity to the tube stations also. You have a few stores and lots of restaurants right around the hotel. This is more than one could ask for in London for the price of the room. We were also given an adapter for the UK plug-ins which was very much appreciated. Of course there are some downfalls given the price: the room size is small, the bathroom also with basically no place to put the toiletry bag on, there is no hallway so the entrance to the bathroom is in the middle of the room.

The Phoenix is a straightforward, well run hotel and, unlike many hotels, has single and small double rooms at a very good price for central London. The rooms are small but certainly fine for the cost. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with a good shower, hairdryer, shower and hair gel and tissues. There is a coffee/tea tray. Only air conditioning is missing but my room had a decent size electric fan which was fine, even in the latest heatwave. The location is excellent, being close to Paddington Station, Hyde Park, 2 underground lines and plenty of food shops and cafes. It is in a quiet turning but close to a busy street so feels safe to walk in the evening. The staff are friendly and helpful and there are other bonuses - a simple breakfast is usually included and check in is at 1pm. The hotel will normally look after bags before check in and after check out if needed.

It is relatively well located and there are several supermarkets and public transport nearby. The room was clean and the breakfast was extensive and you could always find something.

Very good location, walking distance to Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park, Notting Hill/Portobello Market, and Paddington Station area, not to mention loads of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Beautiful historic building fronting a small (private) park. Cozy lobby with fireplace and bar. Very clean and tasteful decor throughout. Room nicely equipped, comfy beds and good linens. Delightful, welcoming staff. Abundant breakfast included. Highly recommended.

Location was great. Staff cleaned our room everyday. Breakfast had great variety. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Kettle with coffee and tea were highly appreciated.

The hotel is located in a lovely quiet area with nice trees and parks nearby. It’s also a 4 minute walk to the nearest tube station, Bayswater (be warned that this station doesn’t have lift access if you have a large bag). Breakfast was also quite good and had several continental options available (you could also purchase a full English breakfast). The shower had good water pressure too.
